Shoe Museum
Discover
the treasures of North America's unique shoe museum. Over
10,000 shoes are housed in architect Raymond Moriyama's award-winning
four-storey structure. The Museum celebrates the style and
function of footwear in four impressive galleries. Artifacts
on exhibit range from Chinese bound foot shoes and ancient
Egyptian sandals to chestnut crushing clogs and glamourous
platforms. Over 4,500 years of history and a collection of
20th century celebrity shoes are reflected in the semi-permanent
exhibition, All About Shoes. Three other galleries feature
special exhibitions.

Gallery of Ontario
Founded
in 1900 by a group of private citizens as the Art Museum of
Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario is now the 10th largest
art museum in North America, with a physical facility of 486,000
square feet. The AGO currently has more than 40,000 works
in its collection, spanning 100 AD to present day. Highlights

40% of the collection vividly documents the development of
Canada’s art heritage, from pre-Confederation to current times,
including one of the largest and finest Inuit art collections
in the world. The collection includes pivotal works by Cornelius
Krieghoff, Lucius O’Brien, James Wilson Morrice, Tom Thomson,
the Group of Seven, David Milne, Emily Carr and Paul-Emile
Borduas.

holdings of the work of pre-eminent Canadian artists Paterson
